Considerado como uno de los grupos más innovadores del circuito musical de Colombia en 1973, Columna de Fuego forjó su sonido a base de mezclar, de una forma creativa y orgánica, elementos del heavy rock y ritmos enraizados en la música de las costas pacífica y caribeña. La banda estaba formada por miembros de Los Young Beats, Los Speakers y Siglo Cero.

Su único LP, grabado en España y publicado únicamente en Colombia en 1974, supuso un punto de inflexión en la historia del rock colombiano. Es un disco repleto de funk, soul y currulao con un ritmo veloz que se mantiene de comienzo a final.

Después de no estar disponible durante cinco décadas, nos complace presentar ahora la primera reedición de esta joya con su arte original. que incluye además un encarte con notas y fotos inéditas.

Considered one of the most innovative groups on the Colombian musical circuit in 1973, Columna de Fuego forged its sound by creatively and organically mixing elements of heavy rock with rhythms rooted in the music of the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. The band featured members of Los Young Beats, Los Speakers and Siglo Cero.

Their only LP, recorded in Spain and released in Colombia only in 1974, was a turning point in the history of Colombian rock, and album full of funk, soul, cumbia and currulao that mantains a fast pace from start to finish.

Unavailable for five decades, we are proud to now present the first-time reissue of this obscure gem.

Raw energy, pure inspiration filtered through the west African mojo. Incredible musicians jamming on a cool riff and having a complete conversation through riffs and stabs. What isn’t there to love! Reminds me of the feel of a late 60’s /early 70’s psych cumbia mix from S. America that a similar company compiled and released; folks who appreciates the lost recordings of time, place and inspiration through the lenses of their vibes. gibkel1

Another golden compilation from AA! Great introduction to Afro-Colombian psychedelia via the Discos Machuca back catalogue. These songs are full of infectious percussion, trance-inducing rhythms, sun-soaked melodies, and hauntingly beautiful vocals.
