Wganda Kenya fue un grupo creado por Discos Fuentes con la intención de desarrollar un sonido afrocaribeño para darle un toque exótico al sello y tratar de llegar al mercado costeño de Colombia.

Este disco de 1976 se ha convertido en una pieza de coleccionista que reclamaba con urgencia su reedición, lo cual no es difícil de entender dado que está repleto de llenapistas afro-funk, de rumba congoleña o de sabor caribeño.

Edición especial que contiene 2 cortes extra no incluidos originalmente en el LP y que aparecieron durante ese mismo período en singles y diversas recopilaciones, así como un encarte con notas. Prensaje en vinilo de 180 gr.

Wganda Kenya was a group formed by Discos Fuentes under the idea of developing an African and Caribbean sound in order to appeal to the Costeño Colombian market and also inject a little international exoticism into the label.

This 1976 album has become a collector’s favorite waiting to be reissued, and it’s not hard to understand why since it’s full of so many Afro-Funk, Congolese rumba and Caribbean-flavored dance floor burners.

Special edition reissue containing two non-album bonus tracks from the same period that appeared on 45s and various artist compilations, as well as an insert with liner notes. Pressed on 180g vinyl.

Another golden compilation from AA! Great introduction to Afro-Colombian psychedelia via the Discos Machuca back catalogue. These songs are full of infectious percussion, trance-inducing rhythms, sun-soaked melodies, and hauntingly beautiful vocals. Hard to pick a favourite song, but I've played side D the most. j j headington
